The cottage is in the picturesque village of Sombrun and is easy to reach. It's only 1 hr drive from Pau airport and 2 hrs drive from Toulouse (east) and Biarritz (west) airports.  A number of the low cost airlines operate to the area and Air France offers an inexpensive and frequent option via Paris. The TGV at Tarbes is only 20 miles away.

For those uncomfortable with flying, the drive from Le Havre is straight forward mainly on quiet motorways (without road works!). Allowing for "sit in" coffee stops and a French lunch it takes about 10 hours. If a days driving is too much there are numerous attractive villages and towns which are well worth breaking a journey for.

Situated in the wine producing area of Madiran, the house is only 1hr drive from Pyrenees offering spectular scenic drives and walks. There are several ski resorts within a 90min drive with the option of some other resorts further away, including the tax free state of Andorra. The surf beaches of Biarritz and Hossegor are only 1.5 hours easy drive away.

Lourdes is only 3/4 hour drive away.
